Vernor’s is a Detroit original, and this shot here shows an old Vernor’s delivery truck somewhere between Woodbridge and Atwater, not far from the Atwater brewery.

Yet another great shot of that main artery of Detroit – Woodward, this time at the intersection of Fort Street. Taken in 1952.

Woodward – Between Larned and Jefferson

Posted by: kim pat   in Detroit

Taken in 1956, this shot up Woodward shows Kern’s in the background. Detroit was never big on public transportation, but you can see there were some trolleys at one time.

    The Old Hudson’s Building

Posted by: kim pat   in Detroit

It was such a sad site to see this go. It was inevitable, of course. After the riots and the “white flight”, there wasn’t enough business for them to remain, but it does bring back some really good memories. A true landmark of Detroit.

    Old Detroit City Hall!

Posted by: kim pat   in Detroit

The building is no longer there, but very similar to the Wayne County Building which is still there. Thanks to Bob Sadler for pointing that one out. A great Detroit landmark.
