Vintage Shot of Downtown Pittsburgh

This is a beautiful vintage photo of downtown Pittsburgh – back when this city was a rusty, dusty steel mill town. It’s actually quite beautiful now, and this photo does a good job of showing it’s character.

What intersection is this? Blvd of the Allies? Is that the Wabash Railroad Station in the background to the left? Looks like a post War photo.

I’m not sure what intersection that is, but I don’t believe that is the Wabash Railroad station.

its liberty and stanwix. the shoe store is where the present mcdonalds is.i shopped at that army navy store, now long gone. it became a sols sporting goods, then tore down

It’s Smithfield and Blvd of the Allies. The big fancy building is the old post office.
